FOREST
Forests cover more than 30 percent of the Earth’s land surface. The world’s largest forest region are Asia and South America.
Forests are found in almost every part of the world.

Types of Forest
There are basic types trees in forests:
Hardwoods
it is broad-leaved trees such as oaks, maples, and hickories.
Softwoods
such as pine, firs, and spruce, have needles-shaped leaves and bear seeds in cones.

Hardwood forest
Grow in steamy tropical and subtropical region.
Softwoods forest
grow in areas with long winters and moderate to high rainfall.
Subalpine or Montane forests
       grow at high altitude.
Cloud forest
grows on tropical mountains with heavy rainfall.

Importance of forest
Forest soils are giant sponges. They soak up rain, so that it seeps slowly into the ground.
Trees increase the supply of oxygen and absorb carbon dioxide, helping keep the atmosphere in balance, so that life in earth can continue.
Forest provide food and shelter for a large and varied population of birds and animals.

Managing forest
About a quarter of the world’s forests have been cleared, either to build houses, farms, and roads, or to harvest the wood commercially.
Diseases, insects, and fires take an annual toll of trees almost equal to the volume cut of the people.
Since people depend to the great extent on forests, it is important to make every effort to protect them.

Even though forest is very important to us there are always a danger entering it, specially those animals who lives there. But even it is very dangerous some people choose to live in the forest. Here in Bulan we encounter two people who choose to live in the forest, the first one is in Matarais and the second is in Padre Diaz.

Matarais forest
We go first at matarais forest, where in we meet Kuya Dany who his living in the forest since he was born. He has 6 children but he is widow for 1 year already. He choose to live in the forest because all the needs specially when it becomes to the food is already there.
But before we reach the house of Kuya Dany we climb and walk around the Matarais. Its so difficult to walk because its high and the road is slanting and has a lot of mud so we need to be careful so that we wont get slide.
After that very long and super tired walk at last we reach the house of Kuya Dany where in he welcome us and let us eat in their home sweety home. We eat their our lunch and  he also give us coconut to drink and to eat. It taste good and yummy after we eat coconut they offer us star apple. How nice right? It is one of the good thing if you encounter people like them who live in a forest because all the fruits or vegetables is free and very safe to eat because its fresh and the soil is very healthy.

Padre Diaz forest
After Matarais forest we went also in Padre Diaz forest. There, we meet Lolo Bading who also live in the forest. He is 80 year old guy. But lolo bading has a problem in hearing so for him to hear us we need to shout.
Since its raining the road going to the house of lolo bading is very dangerous to pass through. So we need to be careful in walking. When we reach the house of lolo bading, his 6 dogs welcome us in the way of barking so we cant go near to his house so we have to shout for him to hear us and thanks God he hear us.
When lolo bading hear us, he imediately stop his dog inbarking and he welcome us. When were talking to lolo bading we learn so much thing about him, one of it is the story why it is hard for him to hear already this what lolo bading say “may ataman pano ako na duwa na balete dun sa may baba, hampangan yun. San nag kakawit ako sadto indukduk nalang ang talinga ko pagkatapos sadto tuda nalang tunug san talinga ko hanggang di na ako nakabati san mayad”. It is also scary in their but lolo bading is so brave to sleep and live there in the forest.

After the interview to lolo bading we go home already because it’ll be dangerous for us to walk or go down if it is late hour already. While we are walking rodney and daniel is cracking the pili that lolo bading give to us.
It was very good experience we encounter to our life even we got lost in matarais. We encounter two different people that choose to live in the forest than to go down and live with other people. In our interview you will know more about them so just watch it.

RESTAURANT
according to Wikipedia restaurant means  is a business establishment which prepares and serves food and drink to customers in return for money, either paid before the meal, after the meal, or with a running tab. Meals are generally served and eaten on premises, but many restaurants also offer take-out and food delivery services. Restaurants vary greatly in appearance and offerings, including a wide variety of the main chef's cuisines and service models.

 Types of Reastaurant
Fast food
Fast food restaurants emphasize speed of service. Operations range from small-scale street vendors with food carts to multi-billion dollar corporations like McDonald's and Pizza Hut. If table seating is available, ordering is not done from the table but from a front counter. Diners typically then carry their own food from the counter to a table of their choosing, and afterward dispose of any waste from their trays. Drive-through and take-out service may also be available. Fast food restaurants are known in the restaurant industry as QSRs or quick-service restaurants.
 Fast casual
Fast casual restaurants are primarily chain restaurants, such as Chipotle Mexican Grill and Panera Bread.[2] More of the food is prepared at the restaurant than is the case at fast food chains. Fast casual restaurants usually do not offer full table service, but may offer non-disposable plates and cutlery. The quality of food and prices tend to be higher than those of a conventional fast food restaurant but may be lower than casual dining.
Casual dining
A casual dining restaurant is a restaurant that serves moderately-priced food in a casual atmosphere. Except for buffet-style restaurants, casual dining restaurants typically provide table service. Chain examples include TGI Friday's and Applebee's in the U.S. and Harvester in the U.K. Casual dining comprises a market segment between fast food establishments and fine dining restaurants. Casual dining restaurants often have a full bar with separate bar staff, a larger beer menu and a limited wine menu. They are frequently, but not necessarily, part of a wider chain, particularly in the United States. In Italy, such casual restaurants are often called "trattoria", and are usually independently owned and operated.
Family style
Family style restaurants are a type of casual dining restaurants where food is often served on platters and the diners serve themselves.[3] In some regions, alcoholic beverages are not sold at family-style casual dining restaurants.
Fine dining
Fine dining restaurants are full service restaurants with specific dedicated meal courses. Décor of such restaurants feature higher-quality materials, with an eye towards the "atmosphere" desired by the restaurateur, than restaurants featuring lower-quality materials. The wait staff is usually highly trained and often wears more formal attire. Fine-dining restaurants are almost always small businesses and are generally either single-location operations or have just a few locations. Food portions are visually appealing. Fine dining restaurants have certain rules of dining which visitors are generally expected to follow often including a dress code.

As a student specially in college we do lot’s of things, specially in studies. Those home works, projects, activities & other requirements for us to pass our subjects. We do need lots of effort to have a higher grade to achieve our goals.

But even though were so busy doing our school activities, there always a time for us to make fun or do something that can make us relax. One of that thing is shopping but most of the time window shopping only. It make us fun to look and fit shoes or dresses even though we don’t have money to buy it.

Other thing also is to walk or go to some places that is new for them. Maybe because its exciting and fun. It gives them happiness and memories that will last forever, not just only the beauty of the surroundings but also the people with you and the memories you make.

But one of the favorite things we do is to eat, some our favorite snacks or foods to eat are siomai, and the Silog in May-pay’s siomai. First thing we look for is the prices of the foods, of course as a student we need to budget our money so that at the end of the week we still have. Sometimes for us to lessen the expenses we will going to divide it. And we do it when we eat in a restaurant, we will order something and when we pay we will going to divide the expenses and that’s why its not hard for us to pay for the bill.

The favorite food we order is the Pansit Guisado, most of the students order this because I can say it is very delicious. Here in bulan there are two restaurant that the student like to eat and keep on ordering the Pansit Guisado. It is healthy too because there’s a lot of vegetable in it so the students keeps on eating. For you to know the places where Pancit Guisado  is do delicious here”s our video when we visit the restaurant:

To what you’ve seen we go to Mama Vacion where in we order their Pancit Guisado.Mr. is the person who welcome us in Mama Vacion. After a few minutes the Pancit Guisado is already cooked it is really delicious where in you will taste the sweet and sour flavor of it. During we eat, we ask Mr. for some questions. One of our question is “how many orders of Pancit Guisado did you take in one day?”Mr. replied, “we get 10 orders in a day .” its only 80 pesos per order. So the price is right and its is from school.

The next restaurant we enter is the 9 balls Restaurant where in we also ordered Pancit Guisado. Like Mama Vacion it is also delicious and has its own flavor. Mr. Jr is the who welcome us in the restaurant. We also asked him if how long it takes to cook Pancit Guisado, Mr. Jr said it takes 15 minutes to cook. Its only 75 pesos per order.

So for those who are craving to eat Pancit Guisado try to eat and taste the Pancit Guisado of Mama Vacion Bar&Grills or 9 balls Restaurant and we will assure you, you will never fail because it taste good and its also healthy to us.

IMMACULATE
CONCEPTION
PARISH
CHURCH

What is the Church?
The Church - Person, Place, or Thing?
>What is the church? Is the church a building? Is it the place where believers gather to worship? Or is the church the people—the believers who follow Christ? How we understand and perceive the church is quite important in determining how we live out our faith.                                                                                  Christianity.about.com

The word church comes from the Greek word ekklesiawhich means a consecrated gathering (calling out), a congregation.  In our case it refers to the gathering of Christians.  There are however a few perceptions of church and they include the following.
  1. The building that Christians go to worship
  2. The local assembly of believers
  3. The religious institution called the Christian Church
  4. The redeemed of all times (The complete Body of Christ)
The definition of the word church denotes a gathering of believers or a congregation.  We will see that number four above is the true church.  Church is really the Body of Christ and the place that you go on Sunday is only a meeting place for the church even though you call that place church.  We have replaced the true church with the organizational entity, which I will explain shortly.

THE PURPOSE OF THE CHURCH

By William R. Cunningham
September 2, 2001

What do you think of when you consider church?  What do you suppose other people think of church especially the non-Christians?  Most of us think of church in terms of the organizational unit that we grew up in as a kid whether Catholic, Episcopalian, Baptist or whatever.  Church, in our minds, is the place that we go on Sundays to worship God and fellowship with each other.  Church is the place that has a plethora of activity, functions, and services.  Church is an organization or so we think.  Many even say that church should be run like a business—an organization.
However, do you really know what church is all about?  Do you really know the purpose of the church, which is the reason that it exists?  What if you were asked by a stranger to explain the purpose of the church?  Where would your mind wander?  Is your perception of church the organization or the body of Christ?  Do you think of church in terms of the Kingdom of God or the ways of men and women?
Well this lesson will hopefully change your thinking about church—the true Church of Jesus Christ.  Hopefully you will reconsider your perception and the concept that you have of Church and realize that church is much more than the place you go on Sundays.  Overall, I hope that you will be liberated by the bondage that has been placed on you by the place you call church so that you can operate in the true Church of Jesus Christ and fulfill your purpose and contribute to the fulfillment of the purpose for the church.

THE TWO ASPECTS OF CHURCH

The church as we know it is composed of two components: the charismatic and the  institutional (administration).  The charismatic (comes from a Greek word that means gift) is the foundation of the true church (the body of Christ).  It identifies the church organism, which is a living body, the spiritual component of the church.  The charismatic, not to be confused with the charismatic movement, is the life of the church, the body of Christ.  This is the most significant part of the church. Let’s briefly discuss these two aspects of the total concept of church.

THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE NUMBER  OF RINGS  FROM  A CHURCH

>  For centuries, church bells have summoned, celebrated, reminded and commemorated. Originally, they served communities as a tool of mass communication for both spiritual and secular matters. Today, though the onset of modern mass communication like radio, television and the Internet has decreased the breadth of church bells' communicative role, they nevertheless retain much of their original meaning.                                                                                                                                                  Ehow.com

Christian Crosses

The cross is one of the earliest and most widely used Christian symbol. In the most broad sense it symbolizes the religion of Christianity (and so appears at the top and left of this page). More specifically, it represents and memorializes Christ's death. A great variety of crosses has developed, some with specific symbolic meaning and others that have simply become culturally associated with certain groups.

The simplest and most common Christian cross is the Latin cross. It may not have come into use until the 2nd or 3rd century. The empty cross, usually favored by Protestants, reminds Christians of the resurrection, while the crucifix, with the body of Jesus on it, favored by Catholic and Orthodox churches, is a reminder of Christ's sacrifice.

The Greek cross, with arms of equal length, is the most ancient cross.

The cross of Calvary or Graded Cross has three steps leading up to it, which can represent the hill of calvary or faith, hope, and love.

WHY ARE THERE SO MANY DIFFERENT RELIGIONS?
Why are there so many different religions? How can we know which is right? And is it not true that all religions lead to God?
There are bound to be many religions in the world because people are always ready to ‘worship’ in ways which they have designed for themselves, regardless of whether these methods of worship lead them to really feel or know God.
Down the centuries people have invented numerous gods and religions. But what is the point of bowing down to lifeless statues, like the great stone beetles which were often used in the ancient east? What is the point? Why do people do it? For if we make gods ourselves, we know that they have no life, and any divine aura around them is merely projected from superstitious imaginations.

Why invent religions?
What is the point of wearily treading the interminable round of religious chanting and ceremonies, as prescribed by some religions, if these activities never bring us any sense of the presence of God, or any certain answers to prayer, or any other definite evidence of His power? Why do people do these things? Why should people invest their own religions?
One reason is - because many want a religion without God. It sounds strange, but it is a fact.

Why Does Religion Exist?

Religion is a pervasive and significant cultural phenomenon, so people who study culture and human nature have sought to explain the nature of religion, the nature of religious beliefs, and the reasons why religions exist in the first place. There have been as many theories as theorists, it seems, and while none fully captures what religion is, all offer important insights on the nature of religion and possible reasons why religion has persisted through human history.                                                                                                                            Atheism.about.com

The Role of Priests in the Catholic Church

In the Catholic Church, a parish priest (also known as a pastor) is a priest appointed by the bishop to represent him to the local parish, which is a collection of neighborhoods in one small region of a county within a given state. A given city may support a number of parishes, depending on the Catholic population.
The pastor is helped by a parochial vicar (formerly known as a curate or an assistant pastor) and/or a permanent deacon, religious sister, or lay parishioners — all known as pastoral associates. The parish council and finance committee, which are made up of lay parishioners for the most part, advise and counsel the pastor but don’t have administrative or executive authority.
